Perplexity Visibility: Evidence, Access and Measurement
Improve the information an answer engine can find and assess. No public checklist reveals a guaranteed Perplexity ranking algorithm.

Avoid claiming to decode a private ranking system
An observed answer is a sample. It can show which sources appeared for a particular question, but it does not expose the complete selection process or guarantee the next answer.
Make source material useful
Publish a clear description of the business, a focused explanation of each service and client-approved project stories. Answer actual buying questions with conditions and evidence. Keep the business name, official domain and contact details consistent.
Check access separately from quality
Review whether important URLs return readable content and whether crawler policies match the business's intended access. A robots rule or machine-readable file is not proof that a service will cite the website. Google's AI search guidance describes its own search features; its requirements should not be presented as Perplexity's private ranking formula.
Use a repeatable observation log
Record the question, date, answer context and cited URLs. Review relevant buying questions rather than chasing arbitrary citation counts. Compare those observations with search traffic and qualified enquiries.
Put visibility into the buyer journey
A visitor still needs to understand the offer, see relevant evidence and contact the team. A citation without a useful landing page or functioning enquiry route has limited commercial value.
Use this guidance in context
